What hours can I ask the nanny to work?

Whatever hours you need them; there is a 4 hour minimum.

What if I only need them for 2 hours?

That is fine, but you must pay the nanny for 4 hours.

What determines the nanny’s hourly rate?

Her experience and the number of children being cared for.

Does the nanny charge an hourly rate for a 24 hour period?

No, a negotiated flat rate is charged usually between $150 and $170 per 24 hour period.

Do I get to meet the nanny before the date needed?

If it is an ongoing temporary position, yes. If it is on an “as needed” basis, no.

Will the nanny drive my children to preschool, activities, etc?

Yes, the family will provide a car or pay for gas.

Hotel sits: Will the nanny take my children swimming?

Yes, if the client wants that they must let the agency know so the nanny we send swims and brings a suit.

What kind of checks do you do on your nannies?

We verify the Social Security number. We do a criminal background check and motor vehicle report for Florida. If the nanny is from another state, we do the appropriate checks for that state. We also verify previous childcare, non-child employment and personal references.

How long have you been in business?

Our agency opened July 5, 1994.  Midwest Nannies Florida opened as a branch of Midwest Nannies, Ltd. in July, 2005.
